Ed Sheeran Cancels Two Gillette Stadium Shows Due to Severe Weather

Ed Sheeran has canceled two concerts at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, due to severe weather warnings across Boston and New England.

The Shape of You singer was scheduled to perform Friday and Saturday as part of his Loop Tour. Messina Touring said the decision was made after consulting with local officials.

Ticket holders can receive refunds at their original point of purchase, while Ticketmaster purchases will be refunded automatically.

The cancellations come amid controversy surrounding Sheeran’s decision to remove Macklemore from the Loop Tour following the rapper’s pro-Palestinian comments. Sheeran said promoters and venue owners, including Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft, applied pressure over the issue.

The other supporting acts—Finneas, Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham and Beoga—later left the tour in solidarity with Macklemore.

Sheeran recently apologized to fans while addressing the controversy, saying he had been forced to make difficult decisions and had never considered himself an “activist musician.” He said the experience changed his perspective on free speech and the ongoing political debate.
