Kylie Minogue Brings a Spectacular Show to Melbourne’s AFL Grand Final

Pop icon Kylie Minogue returned to her hometown of Melbourne on September 26 to headline the Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment at the 2026 Toyota AFL Grand Final.
Performing before more than 100,000 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Minogue delivered a specially created 20-minute production featuring new arrangements, choreography and elaborate staging.
She was joined by several Australian guest performers. G Flip played electric guitar during “Padam Padam,” William Barton contributed to “Confide In Me,” and DJ Dom Dolla debuted a new club mix of “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.”
The performance also featured custom outfits by longtime collaborators Dolce & Gabbana, reflecting three decades of fashion history with the singer.
The production included 40 main stage dancers, 16 performers from Sydney Dance Company and 100 Melbourne dance students who joined Minogue for “The Loco-Motion.” Australian comedy duo The Inspired Unemployed also made a surprise appearance, while a student from Minogue’s former school, Camberwell High, portrayed Young Kylie.
The show opened with a video featuring Minogue reciting lyrics from Mike Brady’s iconic football anthem “One Day in September,” blended with her song “Light Up.”
Behind the scenes, around 300 technical and staging crew members helped bring the production to life in partnership with the AFL, Minogue’s management team and Mushroom Group.
The performance capped a week of Kylie-themed celebrations across Melbourne, including a 13-story mural near Flinders Street Station, a ST. ALi coffee pop-up and official merchandise stores during the Grand Final Footy Fest.
