Taylor Swift Reveals the Quirky Habit Her Husband Travis Kelce Has to Put Up With

Written by on November 2, 2026

Taylor Swift has opened up about a funny habit she shares with her longtime best friend, Abigail Anderson, admitting that it is something her husband, Travis Kelce, has learned to tolerate.

During a special Q&A session with Toy Story 5 director Andrew Stanton in New York City on Sunday, the pop superstar explained why the friendship between animated characters Bonnie and Blaze holds a special meaning for her. Their connection reminded her of the unique bond she shares with Abigail.

Swift recalled moving to Nashville, Tennessee, at just 14 years old and feeling like the new kid at school. It was there that she met Abigail, someone who shared her unusual sense of humor and playful personality.

“There was one girl named Abigail — and she even has curly hair, like Blaze — and the two of us just wanted to talk in Napoleon Dynamite voices,” Swift explained, according to a video shared on social media.

The singer revealed that the tradition has continued over the years, even though their husbands have to put up with it.

Swift jokingly demonstrated how the two friends still use voices inspired by the 2004 comedy Napoleon Dynamite, starring Jon Heder, during everyday conversations.

For the Grammy-winning artist, finding someone who completely understands and embraces her quirky personality is what makes their friendship so special.

“When you find that person who just completely sees you for the strange, little genre that is you at your purest, that hit me so hard watching the film,” she said.

Swift’s comments offered a glimpse into the close friendship that has remained part of her life since her teenage years, while also highlighting the personal connection she felt with the themes explored in Toy Story 5.

The singer married NFL star Travis Kelce in a ceremony at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on July 3.

Meanwhile, Swift is generating considerable awards-season buzz with her contribution to the upcoming animated film. Her song, I Knew It, I Knew You, is widely expected to be a contender in the Best Original Song category.
