Jack White Slams Trump Over Comments About U.S. Cities

Jack White has sharply criticized President Donald Trump following remarks the president made about the war with Iran, accusing him of being the “Worst American of All Time.”
Speaking at a rally in Nebraska on Monday, Trump argued that higher prices resulting from the conflict were an acceptable cost for national security. He also said Iran could potentially target U.S. cities, mentioning Los Angeles and San Diego as examples. Parts of the crowd applauded when the cities were mentioned.
White responded Tuesday in an Instagram post, questioning why Republican and conservative residents of Los Angeles and San Diego would support a president who, in his view, was suggesting their cities could be attacked.
The White Stripes musician also criticized Trump’s supporters for cheering the remarks and accused them of dismissing the comments as a joke or political rhetoric.
White went on to make further accusations about the upcoming midterm elections and concluded his post by calling Trump the “Worst American of All Time.”
The White House did not directly respond to White’s comments. However, White House communications director Steven Cheung defended Trump’s remarks in a post on X.
Cheung said Trump was referring to what could have happened if Iran had been allowed to develop nuclear weapons, arguing that U.S. cities would have faced a greater threat.
“The media freakout over President Trump’s comments is not rooted in reality,” Cheung wrote, adding that the United States is safer because of Trump’s actions against Iran.
