Ozzy Osbourne opens up about his ‘slow recovery’

Written by on January 10, 2024

Ozzy Osbourne has shared that his recovery is going to “take time”.

During the latest episode of The Osbournes Podcast, the British rocker, 75, discussed his health with fellow musician Billy Morrison.

“Ozzy you’re looking so much better,” Billy told the Black Sabbath vocalist.

“It’s just a job, it’s what I do now,” Ozzy told Billy, 54, of his recovery. “I just came back from the doctor today and my blood clots are gone, everything’s back to normal. I can bend my neck. I just gotta get my balance going now.”

The musician underwent his fourth and final spinal surgery in September 2023. He is now focusing on managing his Parkinson’s disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2003.

“I’m not seeing so many doctors anymore,” Ozzy continued during the episode. “I’m just seeing the Parkinson’s doctor but I’m not having surgery or anything. I had seven surgeries in five years.”

He added, “It’s a slow recovery because I’m not as young as I used to be so recovery of anything is gonna take time.”

shortly before his operation in September, Ozzy confirmed that it would be his last.

“Tomorrow I have my final surgery on my neck,” he said during a previous podcast episode. “Which is gonna be the final surgery because I can’t do it anymore. Regardless of the way it ends up after tomorrow, I’m not doing it anymore. I can’t.”

The performer had metal plates inserted into his neck after he suffered a fall in 2019. The plates were later removed as were causing him further pain.
