RAYE to rebound back into the Top 10 following BRITs success

Written by on March 4, 2024

RAYE looks to see an incredible return to the Top 10 with My 21st Century Blues following her clean sweep at last weekend’s BRIT Awards, vaulting 96 spots midweek (7). The London-born singer-songwriter won a record-breaking six awards at the 2024 BRITs ceremony: Album of the Year, Song of the Year (Escapism. ft. 070 Shake), R&B Act, Artist of the Year, Best New Artist and Songwriter of the Year.

Meanwhile at the top of the chart, Liam Gallagher and John Squire are set for their first collaborative Number 1 album this week with Liam Gallagher & John Squire.

The first record from Oasis star Liam and The Stone Roses’ guitarist John takes an early lead in the race to take the trophy, with what could become Liam’s sixth Number 1 LP under his own name. As a member of Oasis, Liam has achieved eight UK Number 1 albums. Should Liam Gallagher & John Squire hold on, it’ll become John’s first chart-topper, with The Stone Roses boasting four UK Top 10 albums.

Bruce Dickinson, best known as lead singer of Iron Maiden, hopes to secure a solo best with his seventh solo record The Mandrake Project (2). His first full-length release since 2005, the LP could become Dickinson’s first Top 10 release as a solo artist.

Leeds rockers Kaiser Chiefs’ Kaiser Chiefs’ Easy Eighth Album could become the band’s eighth Top 10 release (3), following the success of 2005 debut Employment (2), 2007’s Yours Truly, Angry Mob (1), 2008 LP Off With Their Heads (3), 2011’s The Future Is Medieval (10), 2014’s Education, Education, Education & War (1), 2016 album Stay Together (4) and 2019’s Duck (3).

Fellow Leeds lads Yard Act track for a Number 4 debut with second studio release Where’s My Utopia?, while Manchester-formed rock outfit Everything Everything look to claim their sixth Top 10 album with Mountainhead, currently predicted to land at Number 5.

British rapper and songwriter Skrapz, born Christopher Kyei, could earn a career-best with his fourth studio collection Reflection (8); predicted to become his first Top 10 album.

Bournemouth-formed progressive rock group Big Big Train are also on track for their highest-charting album to date, with The Likes Of Us expected to place at Number 13 this week.

Djesse Vol. 4 could earn English singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier his first Top 40 album (18), while Madonna’s hits compilation Celebration eyes a return to the Top 40 following its release on vinyl (29). The record originally topped the Official Albums Chart upon its release in 2009.

Derby rockers These Wicked Rivers are expected to make their chart debut with Force of Nature this week (36), while Metallica’s eponymous 1991 release could see a return to the Top 40 for the first time since 2021 as it’s reissued on vinyl (39).
