Taylor Swift Breaks Two Spotify Records With ‘The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore’

Taylor Swift has once again made streaming history, breaking two Spotify records for 2026 following the release of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore.
The 36-year-old singer released the expanded project with four new songs: “Patient Zero,” “Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon.” According to Variety, “Patient Zero” became the most-streamed song by a female artist in a single day in 2026, while Swift also became the most-streamed female artist in a day this year.
Swift explained on Instagram that the four songs were created after she traveled to Sweden with collaborators Max Martin and Shellback to celebrate the success of The Life of a Showgirl.
She said the sessions began as a celebration of the album’s record-breaking first week, but the trio ended up writing more music. Swift described the new songs as being “born out of pure gratitude” for the fans who supported the album.
The new tracks explore different sides of Swift’s personal life and past relationships.
In “Cleveland!,” named after Travis Kelce’s hometown, Swift celebrates her relationship with her husband, whom she married in July. She refers to Kelce as the “love of my life” and says she has found the one person who doesn’t find her “completely insufferable.”
“Patient Zero” focuses on an ex’s new partner, with Swift offering sympathy and a warning based on her own experience. Some fans have speculated that the song could reference the support she gave Sophie Turner following Turner’s 2023 split from Joe Jonas, although Swift has not confirmed that interpretation.
Meanwhile, “Pink Clouding” looks back at a past relationship with regret. Swift reflects on how she treated a former partner she describes as a good person and expresses remorse for walking away.
“Babylon” takes a more reflective approach, looking at love and hindsight and the realization that some of the best parts of a relationship can only be appreciated after they are gone.
The release of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore adds four new tracks to Swift’s 2025 album and continues the era with a mix of romance, regret and reflection.
