‘CIA’ Season 2 Premieres With New Missions and Personal Challenges for Bill and Colin

Written by on October 5, 2026

Nick Gehlfuss’ Special Agent Bill Goodman and Tom Ellis’ CIA case officer Colin Glass are back for a new chapter as CIA returns for Season 2 on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026.

The FBI spinoff follows the unlikely partnership between Bill, a disciplined FBI agent, and Colin, a rebellious CIA officer. In Season 1, the two joined forces on a task force investigating threats against the United States, developing a strong friendship while navigating dangerous missions, betrayals and difficult career decisions.

Season 2 brings back CIA Analyst Gina Gosian, played by Natalee Linez, and CIA Deputy Chief of Station Nikki Reynard, portrayed by Necar Zadegan.

However, the partnership between Bill and Colin will be tested. The Season 1 finale ended with Colin discovering that his former partner and girlfriend, Antoinette “Toni” Napier, played by Angela Sarafyan, was secretly alive. Bill, meanwhile, turned down a dream job to remain with the task force.

The new season will focus heavily on Bill’s personal life. He receives shocking information about his past that could lead him to launch a personal investigation outside his normal task force duties.

According to Ellis, Bill’s emotional turmoil also changes the relationship between the two men. Colin has relied on Bill as the steady and dependable member of the partnership, but that stability disappears in Season 2.

“With both of them struggling,” their partnership could become more unpredictable than ever.

Fans of FBI will also get a familiar face in the premiere when Agent Stuart Scola, played by John Boyd, visits the CIA team.

Season 2 will feature 22 episodes, nearly doubling the 12-episode first season. CBS renewed the series after only five episodes of its debut season, following strong audience numbers.

The first four episodes are scheduled as follows:

  • Oct. 5: Episode 1, “The Deep”
  • Oct. 12: Episode 2, “Dead Drop”
  • Oct. 19: Episode 3
  • Oct. 26: Episode 4

New episodes will air Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS and will also stream on Paramount+. Premium subscribers can watch episodes live, while Essential subscribers can stream new episodes the following day.
