FKA Twigs Settles Legal Dispute With Shia LaBeouf, Free to Speak About Relationship

FKA Twigs has reached an agreement with her former boyfriend, actor Shia LaBeouf, resolving their latest legal dispute before the case went to trial.
The settlement allows the singer, whose real name is Tahliah Barnett, to speak publicly about her experiences during their relationship without being restricted by the confidentiality provisions previously included in their agreement.
Twigs asked the Los Angeles County Superior Court to dismiss her case after she and LaBeouf reached an agreement over the disputed nondisclosure terms.
The legal dispute dates back to a lawsuit Twigs filed against LaBeouf in December 2020. The couple dated from approximately July 2018 until May 2019. Twigs accused the actor of sexual battery, assault and emotional distress, among other allegations. LaBeouf denied the claims.
Her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, said Twigs had “stood up for something larger than herself” and described the settlement as an important victory for her.
LaBeouf’s attorney, Shawn Holley, said the actor wishes Twigs “nothing but the best” and agreed to end their long-running dispute.
According to court documents, LaBeouf agreed that the disputed nondisclosure provisions are “terminated and void.” The agreement means Twigs can discuss her experiences, advocate for other women and support charitable causes without fear of legal repercussions.
