Mattel has unveiled a new Céline Dion Barbie Signature Doll, celebrating the Canadian superstar’s unforgettable career moment at the 1998 Academy Awards. Announced on Wednesday, the collectible doll is priced at $60 (£45).
The doll wears a long-sleeved navy-blue gown inspired by the outfit Dion wore when she performed “My Heart Will Go On,” the Oscar-winning theme from the 1997 blockbuster Titanic. It also features a replica of the film’s famous “Heart of the Ocean” necklace.
Dion, now 58, described the release as a special milestone, saying: “It is a true honour to join the Barbie legacy with a doll inspired by one of the most meaningful moments of my career.”
She added: “I hope this doll inspires everyone to express themselves with confidence, follow their dreams and believe in the power of their own voice.”
The singer joins an impressive list of music icons immortalised in the Barbie Signature series, including the late Whitney Houston, Miley Cyrus, Kylie Minogue, Gloria Estefan, Diana Ross and Stevie Nicks.
The announcement comes as Dion continues her return to live performances with a concert residency at the Plenitude Arena in Paris, France. The shows mark a significant step following an extended break from the stage as she faced serious health challenges, including stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder.
The first leg of the residency is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, after which Dion will take a break before returning for another 10 performances next May.
With the new Barbie doll celebrating one of the defining moments of her career, Dion’s legacy continues to inspire fans across generations.
