Blondie Announce New Album High Noon, Their First in Nine Years

Written by on October 15, 2026

Blondie have announced High Noon, their first studio album in nine years and the final record to feature founding drummer Clem Burke, who passed away in 2025.

Set for release on February 26, 2027, the album follows 2017’s Pollinator. The band have also unveiled the lead single, “Spectral Eyes,” originally written and released as a solo track by Johnny Marr in 2018.

Frontwoman Debbie Harry says the new record captures the unmistakable Blondie sound while continuing to explore new creative territory.

“This album is classic Blondie — an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new,” she explained. “This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now.”

Guitarist Chris Stein offered a typically candid take on the milestone, saying: “It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album. I’m not sure what the f* I’m supposed to say at this point, except that we’re incredibly grateful for all your support over the years.”

Work on High Noon began in New York in 2022, with the band developing the material together in the studio alongside producer John Congleton, aiming to preserve the raw energy of their performances. David Wrench later handled additional production and mixing, helping bring the album’s sound into focus.

The album’s visual identity comes from longtime collaborator Rob Roth, who has developed an aesthetic that connects Blondie’s legacy with a cinematic, forward-looking vision. Roth describes the concept as existing “between the past, present and future.”

The tracklist reflects the band’s wide-ranging musical history. Highlights include the downtown-inspired “Heartbreak Kid,” the punk-driven “Sleepwalking,” featuring Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, and a contemporary reworking of “Little Metal Drummer.”

Despite the excitement surrounding the new release, Harry has also raised questions about Blondie’s future. Speaking recently about the possibility of the band continuing without its original members, she said she was “against the idea” of performing under the Blondie name without the “original guys” who helped establish the group’s identity.

With High Noon, Blondie look set to celebrate their enduring legacy while moving into a new chapter — one that carries the influence of their past and the memory of Clem Burke into the future.
