Post Malone pays tribute to late NFL star during Thanksgiving game

Written by on November 29, 2025

Post Malone paid tribute to late NFL star Marshawn Kneeland during his Thanksgiving halftime show performance.

The singer and rapper delivered an emotional tribute to the American football player during his halftime performance at the AT&T Stadium in Texas on Thursday, as part of the Thanksgiving Day game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kneeland, who wore number 94 for the Cowboys, died by suicide in the early hours of 6 November, according to police. He was 24.

Following his performance, Post expressed his affection for the Texas team.

“I love you so very much, Dallas, Texas,” he told the audience. “Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for the best team in the world, the Dallas Cowboys.”

“I hope everyone has a great night, I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving, and I love you more than I can ever say,” the Congratulations hitmaker continued, before subtly honouring Kneeland by adding, “We love you 94.”

Post also paid homage to the NFL star by having the number 94 written on the side of his jacket.

In recent games, the Cowboys have been honouring their late teammate by displaying a number 94 decal on their helmets, wearing shirts featuring his image and holding moments of silence.

According to police, Kneeland died hours after state troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety attempted to stop his car for a traffic violation. Kneeland allegedly evaded officers, crashed his vehicle and later fled.
