Tate McRae Announces New Single “Housewife” Ahead of Victoria’s Secret Show

Tate McRae is set to return with new music, announcing her first single since her 2025 album So Close to What.
The pop star revealed on social media that “Housewife” will be released Friday, October 9. It remains unclear whether the song will be part of a new album or a larger project.
The release comes just days before McRae, 23, performs at the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 18.
McRae has previously spoken about her approach to songwriting, saying she tries to keep an “extreme and open mind” because music has already explored countless sounds and ideas.
“Everything’s been done before — every key has been played, every word has been used,” she told Billboard. “All you have is your own unique perspective.”
The singer considers her 2023 hit “Greedy” a major turning point in her career. Co-written with Amy Allen, Jasper Harris and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, the song became a global hit and helped define her musical direction.
McRae has also singled out “Sports Car” as one of her favorite songs, calling it a fun and unexpected creative experience.
Among the artists who influence her, McRae has named Lana Del Rey as her biggest musical inspiration, while also praising Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, Olivia Rodrigo and Gracie Abrams.
