Taylor Swift Scores Another UK Chart Double as “Patient Zero” Hits No. 1

Taylor Swift has achieved another major UK chart milestone, with The Life of a Showgirl returning to No. 1 on the Official Albums Chart while her new single “Patient Zero” debuts at the top of the Official Singles Chart.
The achievement comes following the release of the expanded The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore edition. The album earns its fifth non-consecutive week at No. 1, landing at the top exactly one year after its original release.
“Patient Zero” becomes Swift’s eighth UK No. 1 single and her third chart-topper of 2026, following “Opalite” and “I Knew It, I Knew You.” She is currently the only artist to score three UK No. 1 singles this year.
The album also makes history as Swift’s first record to produce three UK No. 1 singles. Two other new tracks, “Cleveland” and “Babylon,” also made strong debuts at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
Swift has now achieved the Official Chart Double five times with different album-and-single combinations, reaching the milestone every year since 2022. She also holds 14 UK No. 1 albums, the most of any female artist in UK chart history.
Madonna and Oasis also make an impact
Elsewhere on the Singles Chart, Jamie Miller’s “Babydoll” climbed to a new peak at No. 6.
Madonna scored three Top 40 entries from CONFESSIONS II, led by her collaboration with Kylie Minogue, “Love Sensation,” at No. 8.
Meanwhile, Oasis returned to the Top 30 with their classic “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” which re-entered the chart at No. 29 as excitement surrounding the band’s ongoing tour continues.
Keo make a strong debut
On the Albums Chart, UK indie band Keo debuted at No. 2 with their first album, Put A Smile On For Me.
The record moved 23,500 chart units, making Keo the first UK male band since Blossoms in 2016 to surpass 20,000 first-week units with a debut album.
Nothing But Thieves landed at No. 3 with Stray Dogs, giving the band its fourth consecutive Top 5 album, while Soft Cell reached No. 26 with Danceteria, their 11th Top 40 album.
